«Здание, внесённое в список». Так называются здания в Англии, официально признанные имеющими «особый архитектурный или исторический интерес», согласно законодательству, принятому в 1971 г. Такие сооружения защищаются от сноса, а их владельцы или жильцы обязаны получить разрешение в местном отделе планирования, если хотят произвести любую работу, которая может изменить или повлиять на облик здания. Существуют три типа списков: первая ступень — «здания исключительного интереса» (около 1% от общего числа); вторая ступень — «особо важные сооружения, более чем специального интереса» (около 4%); третья ступень — «здания особого интереса», которые «оправдывают усилия, прилагаемые для их сохранения». Некоторые сооружения, включённые в список, довольно необычны, например, собранные блоки, возведённые как временные сооружения во время Второй мировой войны, или причудливо украшенные захоронения. -
